As I am sure you are aware, as a result of the Welsh Assembly’s Local Government settlement, Powys County Council are threatening to close a number of our local schools.
Under threat of closure are Nantmel C in W Primary School, Llanbister CP School, Llanfihangel Rhydithon CP School, Llandrindod High School, Builth Wells High School, Gwernyfed High School and Brecon High School – and who knows what comes next?
Our excellent local schools are vital to the future of our area and we must do all we can to keep them open. Each school offers something unique to their community and their talented teachers offer the highest standards of education to our children. To lose these fantastic schools would be catastrophic to the future of our communities.
I will be doing all I can to keep the pressure on Powys County Council to ensure that our fantastic local schools keep open,
